Preparing for Your Session at Athletic Sports Massage Canberra

Health Check: If you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of a cold/flu, please contact me as soon as possible to reschedule.

To ensure you receive the most effective clinical treatment, please take a moment to review this checklist before your appointment.

  • Medical Reports (Mandatory): If you are seeking treatment for a specific injury or have a history of spinal surgery, please email your GP, surgeon, or imaging reports (MRI/Ultrasound) to me at least 48 hours before your session. Note: As per my Duty of Care, I cannot treat these conditions without prior review of your clinical history.

  • Intake Forms: If this is your first visit, please complete the Health & Consent form I have when you come. Filling in the form does not take time out of your massage time, so please come about 5 minutes earlier to fill it in.

What to Wear: For the Assessment: Wear loose clothing or gym gear for your initial postural and movement assessment, if that is needed.

  • For the Massage, Ray works directly on the skin with massage oil and doesn't massage over clothes. You will be professionally draped with a towel at all times. (Its up to you whether you want draping or not)

  • For Glute/Hip Work: To treat the gluteal muscles effectively, a G-string is required (Ray no longer works by pulling up tight, full-coverage underwear due to the damage it has caused over the years to his fingers). If you don't have one, Ray has provided complimentary disposable G-strings for your use, which will be on the small table near the massage table, and you can take them with you when you leave.

  • Hygiene: For the best experience, please ensure you have showered before your appointment. If you are on your period, you are still welcome to attend; simply ensure you are freshly showered.

  • Parking: You may park anywhere on Ray’s private driveway, and if there is a car there, it’s only Rat’s white car, so you can park behind it.
