I’m Ray, the founder of Athletic Sports Massage Canberra. My mission is to ensure every woman who walks through my door feels heard, respected, and clinically supported.


Why I Specialise in Women’s Health

In the world of sports therapy, many clinics are built around a male-centric model, with women’s health often treated as an afterthought. I’ve chosen a different path.

I believe women deserve care designed specifically for their unique physiology and life stages. Whether you are a young athlete, a busy professional, or navigating the physical transitions of motherhood and beyond, I provide a space where your health and performance are the sole priority. My approach is strictly science-based, moving away from myths to focus on what actually works for the female body.


Decades of Discipline & Expertise

My understanding of bodywork is rooted in 20 years of clinical experience and a lifelong dedication to physical mastery.

  • A Foundation in Movement: I have practised martial arts since the age of 12, achieving multiple Black Belts. This discipline gives me a unique perspective on biomechanics, mobility, and how the body heals.
  • Clinical Qualifications: With over two decades of experience, I am highly qualified in Remedial and Sports Massage, specialising in chronic pain, nervous system regulation, and lymphatic drainage.
  • A Personal Touch: I bring a sense of humour and a relaxed energy to my sessions, but my work is 100% focused. I believe you get the best results when you feel comfortable and at ease in the clinic.

I integrate a vast toolkit of evidence-based techniques to help you return to your best—physically and mentally:

  • Chronic Pain & Elite Recovery: Myofascial trigger point therapy, tendon release, and active release stretching.
  • Women’s Wellness: Targeted support for postural changes, stress restoration, and long-term resilience.
  • Modern Cupping: Myofascial cupping release (using modern clinical methods).
  • Nervous System Support: PTSD awareness, somatic therapy, and meditative restoration to reset the mind-body connection.

  • The Pre-Event Gift: To support my regular athletes, I offer a complimentary sports massage one week before your event to ensure your body is primed for peak performance.
  • Self-Defence for Women: I believe safety should never be a financial burden. I offer free martial arts-based self-defence training for women, helping you build confidence and physical resilience regardless of your budget.
